Raw dairy products now available with Cow-share ownership!

On January 13, 2012, the TN Attorney General’s office issued an opinion stating that raw milk products can now be legally obtained by partial owners of cows through the TN Cow Share Law.
So all you farmers who were worried that you could only give the owners their raw milk can now rest easy. You can now provide your cow share owners with their own raw milk products made from their own raw milk. You can now provide them with their raw butter, raw cream, yogurt and whatever other raw product comes from their own cow’s fresh raw milk. It’s their own raw milk, and they are only paying you for your LABOR of making these things for them from their own milk.
Here below is the opinion of the TN Attorney General. The assumption is that the farmer is making the products from the raw milk, and that this can be obtained and “used” by the partial owners. The Attorney General sees the original intent of the bill to include allowing owners to obtain milk products, thereby allowing farmers to make the raw milk into raw milk products.
